A New Perspective on Psychic Growth and Collective Change
(for the rational mind)
1. Human psyche is not only what we are aware of
We all know we have conscious thoughts, decisions, and attitudes. But everyone sometimes reacts “strangely,” “why am I saying this?” or “why does this bother me so much?”. These are signals that our unconscious psyche has its own influence that we don’t yet know or don’t want to know.
What is called the “unconscious” is not mysticism – the subconscious is a collection of unexpressed patterns, repressed emotions, and inherited strategies running in the background like subconscious software. The superconscious is a place where higher knowledge, intuition, wisdom, or spiritual insight can arise. The superconscious is a connection to something greater than ourselves, to the higher self, universal consciousness, or God — depending on how one feels it. It is a source of inspiration, peace, and truth that can influence our decisions and direction.
2. Each person has their strong and weak areas in thinking, feeling, perceiving, and deciding
Modern psychology (building on the work of C. G. Jung) describes that each of us has a certain “basic style of perception and decision-making.” Some ways of processing reality are natural to us (e.g., logical analysis), others are less consciously developed (e.g., body awareness, intuition, emotional sensitivity).
👉 We call those weaker areas inferior functions. They are not worse – just less developed, suppressed, or overloaded.
3. Psychic growth happens when a person consciously starts working with what doesn’t come naturally
This is not esotericism. This is developmental reality: if you have a one-sided style, for example, you are highly rational but disconnect from emotions or the body, your system loses balance. At some point, this creates tension, frustration, or stagnation.
➡️ The key is to consciously start developing that “neglected area” — not forcing yourself, but beginning to perceive its value. For example, a rational person gradually begins to notice what they feel. Not to become “more emotional,” but to gain a fuller picture of reality.
4. This creates a kind of “inner axis” – a connection of different personality parts
Once a person begins to notice not only what they think but also what they feel, perceive, sense… their inner system starts to balance. The psyche becomes more resilient, more creative, and more whole. Different parts of the personality stop competing and begin cooperating.
This is the moment when the so-called transcendental axis of consciousness is activated – in other words: inside the person, a connected system emerges that manages complexity without collapse.
5. What does this mean for society?
This process is happening today to a large part of humanity – even if not consciously. Collectively, we are learning to handle more polarized opinions, conflicting data, crises, and identity changes. It is challenging because it forces us to grow beyond our “comfort type of thinking.”
Collective unconscious = what has long been unresolved.
Collective consciousness = the ability to admit it and act wisely.
When more individuals connect with their “uncomfortable parts” and process them integratively, they transform the social atmosphere – making it more capable of handling differences, tensions, and change without collapsing into chaos or authoritarianism.
6. What follows practically from this?
- It’s not about “spirituality” or ideology.
- It’s about an inner developmental capacity that everyone has – and either consciously develops or suppresses (which then explodes in unconscious reactions).
- Developing these aspects strengthens your resilience, complex perception, and integrity.
7. Transformation begins with conscious descent into the lower layers of personality
Psychic integration does not start from the top, with ideals or inspirations – but below, in the shadow, the body, unconscious emotions, and the inferior function. This is the gateway to growth precisely because our mind long repressed it – and thus remained incomplete.
➡️ When a person consciously descends to this least developed function, they don’t just start “fixing” it. Instead, they activate a deeper transformational process in which all four psychic functions connect – not only the dominant and inferior.
8. Integration of functions happens through the heart as the central point of consciousness
Each person has four basic functions – thinking, feeling, intuition, and sensory perception – some of which are conscious and others less developed. Once the presence of all these functions is consciously recognized and respected, they begin to harmonize in a new system.
💗 The heart plays the role of the central point – a bridge and mediator.
It is not just the emotional center but an inner consciousness of unity that can hold the tension between different principles without needing to suppress them.
👉 The horizontal structure thus looks as follows:
- Thinking (Ti/Te) ↔ Feeling (Fi/Fe)
- Intuition (Ni/Ne) ↔ Sensory perception (Si/Se)
All these opposites are connected through the heart, which enables mutual understanding and coordination. No function is superior – each has its place in dynamic balance.
9. Newly formed structure: Integration of horizontal and vertical axes
At this point, there is a unification of the horizontal psychic plane (four basic functions) and the vertical plane of consciousness, which brings deeper dimensions of being.
🔻 Descent – Shadow and body:
The first light of the vertical axis is activated by descent into the body, instincts, and shadow – here true humility and authenticity are born.
🔸 Center – Heart as bridge:
The second light lights up in the center of the system – in the heart. It holds the tension of opposites, enables inner coherence, and access to conscious choice.
🔺 Ascent – Inspiration and superconsciousness:
The third light is opening to higher inspiration, intuition, and transcendent insight – through the heart flows knowledge that is not forced but revealed.
📐 Result: New structure of consciousness
An inner space is created that connects:
- The horizontal axis (four functions in mutual harmony),
- The vertical axis (descent – heart – ascent),
- And the unifying center, which is not static but actively responds and balances the whole system.
💠 This new structure is not only a psychological model. It is a living pattern of inner work, resilience, and wholeness – a state in which a person is no longer controlled by one dominant part but becomes a conscious bearer of their whole psychic energy.
Psychic growth consists of integrating all four functions through the heart, where descent into suppressed areas activates the spiritual function that connects horizontal and vertical axes of consciousness and creates a new holistic personality structure.
The future belongs neither to rationality nor intuition – but to their integration. And precisely by each person consciously noticing what is weak or suppressed within them, a new type of human being arises – conscious, whole, mature.
